The reason being it's mine does it and I can put both my batteries in it but I can put them in my impact and they'll go forever and not do that but I put them in the half inch drill and it'll do it every time and it's gotten worse I think it's in the drill in the trigger part myself because it has something to do with the trigger mines not wanting to go forward in reverse correctly like it should it can be on the forward side but going reverse then you let off after it quits running and swap it and it will vice versa then it will catch itself after a couple times of pulling the battery in and out of the bottom of the drill. I can't say that that can be the truth of the matter. My purchase was 3 years old.Ĭonclusion: after a few calls and a trip to the store, I now own a new Dewalt 20v. P.S the warranty is only good for 5 years so, you may be out of luck if your purchase is older than that. Either way…… they will give you store credit to get yourself another drill. ![]() At the store the returns desk can locate the transaction. If you have the card even better just go to the store with the card and reference/case number from Kobalt customer service. I took that information to the store and got a store credit to purchase a new drill of choice. I called back to Kobalt c/s and told them what I received and they gave me a case number too. They found the transaction and were able to give me the invoice number ( they can’t print receipts older than 90 days). I didn’t have my receipt or card, so I was advised to call the Lowes credit card department (since I knew it was with my Lowes card). I think it’s worth it to share my experience to help anyone else with the same problem.Īfter calling the number (option 1 and option 5 are correct) they said they require either your receipt or the card you used to purchase your drill. I just wanted to let you know that your advice on the return worked 3 years later. and even forgot to include the charger but it was no problem. I didn't have a receipt, or any of the original packaging. Then just go pick up a new one and use the credit to check out. Then they will give you an Authorization number which you take to the store along with the tools, and they will issue a store credit. In my case, they recognized the problem as a short in the circuit board. ![]() They will ask for your name, the Item # (you can find it looking on the Lowe's website if you don't have the box or receipt), and what the issue is with the item. They will list a number of options for the type of tool but I believe the correct prompt is #5. It really went much easier than I expected. I did exactly that and within 15 minutes I had a store voucher to purchase a complete new set. ![]() They said they could not replace them directly because it was over 90 days, so they gave me the number for Kobalt Customer Service and said to call them and get an authorization number and then they could replace the item. I took the drill and driver (I had bought them as a set) to Lowe's and explained the problem.
